Our work is part of the For Generations To Come initiative, in partnership with Rochdale AFC, to help communities imagine and invest in a better future. Since the initiative launched in May 2025, we’ve been working alongside local people to explore bold, long term ideas for the borough and understand where we can be most useful.

For Generations To Come first public moment took place on 6th May 2025. More than 200 people gathered at Rochdale Town Hall to celebrate the town’s strengths and start shaping its future.
It was a night of connection, conversation and shared ambition, and the starting point for For Generations To Come.
The event also premiered a new short film, created by AML Group and award-winning production company The Attic.

Since the launch event, the Our Future team has been spending time across Rochdale, listening to people, building connections and understanding what matters most to communities across the borough.
One thing we’ve heard time and again is that there’s already so much good happening. Great ideas, passionate people and community action are everywhere, but people don’t always know what’s happening beyond their own neighbourhoods or how they can get involved.
That’s why Round Here was created.
Round Here is a space where ideas, conversations and opportunities from across Rochdale come together. It’s an opportunity for people to share their hopes for the future, hear different perspectives and help shape what comes next.

On Tuesday 19th May, despite the rain and traffic, a group of Rochdalians came together for the first Let’s Talk About Our Spaces conversation, held at The Hive, Million Pavilion in Balderstone Park.
Over the past year the team have been getting to know people across Rochdale, listening to what matters most and rallying individuals to get involved. The same names kept coming up – not as a formal network or leadership group, but because their communities consistently pointed to them as champions already doing great work across the borough.
