Coming together for the future of a town

Coming together for the future of a town

Since 2024, more than 1,100 people across Grimsby have come together to shape the future of their town.

People from different backgrounds and experiences have been part of that work, connected by a shared belief that things can be better.

As Mark Webb, Managing Director (The Business Hive, E-Factor ), puts it:

“If you want a future rich in the support and involvement of your community, you have to come together to decide what that future will be.”

That idea runs through everything happening in Grimsby.

A diverse mix of people have been showing up because they are invested in the future of their town bringing their knowledge, commitment and experience and working alongside others who share that same sense of purpose.

When that kind of energy comes together, something starts to shift. People step forward, contribute what they know, and begin to build something that truly belongs to the town.

Our Future works with communities to create the space for this to happen – where people can bring their talents and experience, not simply be consulted.

What is emerging in Grimsby shows what becomes possible when people come together around the future of their town. It depends on trust, relationships and sustained involvement over time. It relies on space for people to genuinely contribute. It requires institutions to enable rather than direct.
