Grimsby in 10 years
More than 1,000 people have come together for a conversation about the future of Grimsby as part of the Grimsby Together project, leading to a rich picture of what matters to the area.
Grimsby and NE Lincs are the trailblazer for Our Future, where we are developing the approach together and showing what is possible.
Since 2021, we’ve been developing a joyful new way of working that celebrates the shared history and uses that to build a vision and action that is Bold in Hope and Bold in Scope.
The story of Grimsby has been one of loss of the fishing industry, of ambitious young people who are expected to leave the town to get a good job. However, there is growing opportunity here and phenomenal leaders who aren’t waiting for permission but are getting on and making change happen today.
Our Future partners with Grimsby Town Football Club, a 145-year-old institution which is at the heart of the identity of the town. This partnership has enabled the love and belonging people feel for the club to be used to serve a wider purpose.
In Summer 2024 we held a conversation across Grimsby where more than 1,100 people input to shaping a vision for the town, sharing 790 statements and voting 56,743 times on others’ ideas. People shared 283 specific ideas for things that should happen, which were built on and refined in 7 in-person workshops and events.
The work resulted in the vision shared above. You can read the analysis of the online conversation here:
We would love to work with you in turning the vision and plan that has emerged into reality. You can get involved by joining upcoming events or getting in touch with us for a discussion.
