Derrick Anderson CBE, DL retired as Chief Executive of Lambeth Council, London in December 2014, having been the Chief Executive since 1st March 2006.
He was previously Chief Executive of the City of Wolverhampton Council for 10 years and Director of Leisure and Community services for 5 years before that. Derrick, who was born in London but grew up in Birmingham, had more than 30 years’ senior management experience in local government and more than 35 years in the public sector.
Derrick was voted ‘Public Leader of the Year’ in the Guardian Public Services Awards 2012. He is currently Trustee and Director of Our Hope Charity, a non-exec Director of UK Municipal Bond Agency Plc and the Chair of Trustees of the Wave Trust charity.
Derrick was awarded a CBE for services to local government. His outside interests include working with aid and development organisations in Southern Africa and the Caribbean.
